Claims Handler
Run card and Section 75 claims end to end, from the first phone call to the money landing in someone's account.
Posted
You will own a caseload of consumer claims and see each one through personally: the first conversation, the honest decision about whether we should take it at all, gathering evidence, writing to banks, and keeping the client informed at every stage.
The part of this job that surprises people is how often the right answer is to tell someone they do not need us. We measure that and we reward it. If that sounds like a strange way to run a claims company, this is probably not the right place for you.
What you will do
- Assess new enquiries honestly, including advising people to claim free themselves where that is the better route
- Run a caseload of chargeback, Section 75 and reimbursement claims end to end
- Write clear, well-evidenced letters to banks and card providers
- Keep clients updated on a predictable schedule, including when there is nothing to report
- Identify vulnerable clients and apply the adjustments they need
- Hand cases to the Ombudsman team with a properly prepared file
What we are looking for
- Strong written English — most of this role is writing precisely and persuasively
- The temperament to tell someone their claim is weak, and explain why
- Comfort with detail: dates, amounts and time limits decide these cases
- The ability to handle distressing conversations with people who have lost money
- Right to work in the UK
Nice to have, not required
- Experience in financial services complaints, banking or debt advice
- Familiarity with chargeback reason codes or Section 75
- Any consumer advice background — Citizens Advice, welfare rights, trading standards
- A second language, particularly Urdu, Polish or Punjabi
What we offer
- Full funding for CICM or CILEx study, with study leave
- Hybrid working after your first month, two days a week in the Glasgow office
- Private medical cover and a 6% matched pension
- Twenty-eight days holiday plus bank holidays, rising with service
- A bonus scheme based on client outcomes and quality reviews, never on fee income

Application received.
A member of the team will review it and come back to you within five working days, including if the answer is no.
